Obesity Reality TV-Ruby (Style)
Ruby is a show in it's second season, I believe, but the difference is there is a single subject narrating the show. Ruby is a southern white woman who is considered obese and she is on a journey, literally and figuratively, to lose weight and travel across America and connect with people on this issue. This is an interesting show because she is driving the narrative (it seems).

Let's Move Campaign

This month the First Lady Michelle Obama launched a new campaign called Let's Move. The campaign focuses on childhood obesity but from a very different angle than it has been addressed in the past. In effect she is changing the mainstream discourse from childhood obesity as the fault of the individual and individual families to a charge for the nation to improve our health, shifting the focus from the visual presentation to physical needs. This is remarkable. Check out the site letsmove.gov.
